I was glad when they said to me: “Let us go to the house of the Lord.”
— PSALM 122:1
Our fellowship of families
Children are spiritual beings who encounter God in their own unique ways. Second welcomes them as a vital part of this community of believers: They actively participate in worship, learning, fellowship and service to our community.
Our children’s ministry
Nursery care
For our littlest ones (infants - 2 years old) paid nursery staff provide year-round childcare from 8:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m on Sunday year-round. They assure that the children’s first church experience is a warm, loving one. The nursery is equipped with an adjoining crib room, and a rocking chair for nursing mothers. Pagers are available to ensure your peace of mind during worship and/or Sunday School.

Music
Festival Singers is comprised of 7th through 12th graders. No audition is required. This ensemble rehearses on Sundays from 4-5 p.m. just prior to Youth Fellowship throughout the school year. The Festival Singers sing at various services throughout the year, typically several each semester. This group sometimes combines with the Adult Choir for special music.
As we guide our children in the wonder and joy of God’s love through worship, we are taking part in Child of Blessing through the Presbyterian Association of Musicians.
As part of the program, we include children and youth in our worship service as acolytes and servers of communion. This is the first of several new ways that this initiative will help us in nurturing our youngest worshipers.
Participation in the project connects us with congregations across the country and provides us with worship resources for reflection and feedback. The initiative is funded by Lilly Endowment Inc.
