For those who want to learn more about the interim period and Pastor search process, copies of the book Searching for a Pastor the Presbyterian Way (Geneva Press) by Dean E. Foose are available in the narthex for $13. There is also a wonderful article compiled by our newsletter editor Leigh Singleton in the May Second Story newsletter.

 

Interim Update: Our committee continues to meet weekly. We are narrowing our focus and doing initial phone interviews with individuals we feel are a good match on paper. We are checking references and are encouraged by the potential candidates. Please keep the committee and the candidates in your prayers. Please feel free to talk with any of the members of the committee if you have questions. The members are: Susan Brantley, Priscilla Coe, Fred Kirchner, Juli Mosley, Mary Nichols and Allen Townsend.

A “home office” with a desk, computer, internet access, printer, fax, and phone has been set up in the church house for anyone looking for employment opportunities.  You can sign up to reserve the office, which is now available Monday through Friday, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.  For more information on how to check availability and reserve a block of time, please contact Sarah White at sarah.white@secondpresbyterian.net or by calling 292-3343.
